About Emmett

As a guitar teacher with more than 4 years of experience, I specialize in helping students bring their musical ideas to life. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance with a concentration in Contemporary Styles. My lessons focus on composition, creative arranging, and building confidence in your unique sound. Every student’s musical journey is different, and I adapt lessons to reflect that. We work on harmonic concepts, chord theory, melodic phrasing, and even writing counterpoint when the music calls for it. I also help students record their ideas into basic demos to capture and refine their compositions. Whether you’re a beginner learning your first chords or a seasoned player working on original material, I tailor sessions to your goals. I particularly enjoy guiding aspiring composers through the creative and technical aspects of building a song. Music theory, ear training, and improvisation are woven into lessons naturally. I’ve worked with a wide range of learners—each with their own voice to discover. If you're ready to turn practice into expression and theory into songs, I’d love to help. About the lesson

I teach guitar with a strong focus on listening skills and musical awareness. Ear training is central to my method because it helps you play with feel and freedom. We work on melodic dictation, interval recognition, and transcribing music by ear. These skills help you learn songs faster and understand what you’re playing. I offer targeted exercises for Campfire Strummers who want to sing along with confidence, and Blues Seekers chasing expressive solos. Over time, you’ll be able to figure out melodies and chord progressions without needing a guide. I also show you how to break songs into sections and recognize patterns. You’ll learn how to listen actively and apply what you hear on your instrument. This builds real musical independence and improvisation ability. Lessons are clear, supportive, and adjusted to your goals. Together, we’ll sharpen your ears and unlock your potential as a guitar player.
