About Lila
Hi, I’m a violin tutor with over 5 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Arts in Music with an emphasis in violin. My journey as a performer spans solo recitals, chamber ensembles, and professional orchestras. I use this background to shape young musicians into confident, expressive performers. My teaching focuses on advanced players, including high school musicians, conservatory students, and competition entrants. I guide students through complex repertoire, helping them polish their tone, refine their technique, and interpret music with maturity. Lessons are a mix of detailed technical work and big-picture musical thinking. We prepare seriously for auditions and performances while also having fun discovering what makes each piece meaningful. I also work on building stage presence and calming nerves before high-pressure events. I tailor each lesson to the student’s strengths and areas of growth. Together, we build the skills — and the mindset — needed for artistic success.

My violin lessons are rooted in clear technique, strong musical understanding, and joyful playing. I help students develop good posture, controlled bowing, clean intonation, and a rich tone. These elements create a solid foundation that allows expression to flourish.
Many of my students start out playing in choirs or at home, and want to bring that love of music into their violin practice. I support that transition by building confidence and giving clear, achievable steps. You’ll learn how to shape sound, connect to a melody, and feel at home with your instrument.
Lessons are structured with warm-ups, technique exercises, and expressive pieces. I offer encouragement, practical tips, and careful attention to detail. Mistakes are part of the process — we learn from them, not fear them.
