About Aria
My studio is a haven for adult learners who want to experience the joy of music without pressure or perfectionism. If you’ve always dreamed of playing the flute—or even if the thought just recently crossed your mind—I’m here to help make that dream a reality. I specialize in teaching students over 50, including complete beginners and those who may have felt discouraged in previous musical settings. My teaching combines the gentle flow of breath-based tone work with engaging musical activities like call-and-response playing, guided listening, and slow-tempo ensemble recordings. I use technology wisely, with simple tools like visual guides, listening tracks, and optional video feedback for home practice. What matters most is that each lesson is centered on what you want to achieve. Some students prefer a relaxed, meditative pace while others enjoy structured exercises and short-term challenges. I’ll meet you wherever you are, and we’ll grow from there—together.

For me, teaching flute is about guiding adults toward a musical experience that feels joyful, healing, and enriching. I’ve worked with many students over 50 who thought they’d “missed their chance” to play an instrument, and nothing makes me happier than helping them discover otherwise. I offer a teaching approach that respects your pace, your goals, and your learning style.
While we work on classical fundamentals like breath, embouchure, and rhythm, I also incorporate elements of movement, storytelling, and improvisation to deepen your engagement with the music. I use tools such as adjustable backing tracks, digital sheet music, and audio playback so you can hear yourself grow. Our lessons aren’t about “perfecting” performance; they’re about making music meaningful to your life.
