About Elise
I have over 4 years of experience teaching Spanish, and I hold a BA in Spanish with a Concentration in Creative Writing and Translation. My passion lies in helping expatriates and digital nomads adapt smoothly to life in Spanish-speaking countries. I understand the real-world challenges that come with relocation—language barriers, paperwork, cultural nuances, and making genuine connections. My lessons are flexible and practical, designed to fit your lifestyle and needs. We’ll cover essential vocabulary and phrases for handling bureaucracy, renting an apartment, setting up a bank account, or visiting the doctor. I also guide you through local customs, cultural etiquette, and how to build authentic relationships in your new community. Each session balances language skills with real-life preparation. I incorporate news, social media, role-play, and creative translation exercises to make sure you're not just learning Spanish—you’re living it. We’ll explore both formal and informal expressions, helping you sound natural in conversation. My teaching approach blends language learning with meaningful conversation. I focus on helping students speak Spanish in a gentle, thoughtful, and reflective way. Lessons include topics such as climate change, sustainability, and how to talk about the environment in Spanish. Together, we explore vocabulary related to recycling, conservation, and natural resources. I also guide students in expressing opinions, asking questions, and discussing global issues with clarity and confidence.
For learners interested in advocacy, I offer tools to build persuasive language skills and express concern about environmental problems. We practice how to speak up respectfully and effectively—whether it’s for daily conversations, community meetings, or written messages. I often use articles, videos, and music that inspire conscious thinking and communication.
I’m especially strong in supporting Conversationalist and Immigrant/Newcomer learners who want to develop both language and purpose. My sessions are calm, supportive, and deeply human.
