Looking for a proficient Chemistry Tutor that will enlighten your understanding in Chemistry? Look further no more! Samuel Barnabas is here to help you. Teaching Methodology and Techniques: Objectives of each lesson; at the end of each topic the student should be able to explain or have in-depth knowledge on the topic. Use of models during teaching Activity: Much of the chemistry lesson can be represented with models, pictures, graphs etc. I simplify these ideas to students by representing the reaction such as 2H2 + O2 → 2H2O with models. I make pictorial representations to discuss an acid-base reaction. Mainly the subject Chemistry deals with atomic and molecular phenomena that cannot be observed in the high school classroom. So to help students understand these abstract concepts, I use analogical models to make concepts more accessible to the learners. The models are more than communication tools; they provide means for exploring, describing and explaining scientific and mathematical ideas; they help to make science relevant and interesting and worth learning. They leave on the mind of student long lasting memory that will help them through any related exam condition and real life application. With my many years in Teaching Chemistry and other Science Subject like Physics and Biology; I have been able to open the mind of students to easy ways of understanding Chemistry topics. I have been able to prepare student for proficiency on Chemistry in order to get certified as being fit to study Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Courses that students need Chemistry in order to be able to Study. My lessons are specifically for High School Student (Grade 10, 11 and 12) and College Students studying Chemistry (Pure and Applied Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering).

  • When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

Right from High School, I have always loved Chemistry and Mathematics and other Science Subjects, I studied Industrial Chemistry and Medicinal Chemistry, with great knowledge in Science Laboratory Technology. This field of study for me is nothing but fun, hence my ability to teach Chemistry to every mind no matter how difficult it is for them to understand.
  • What makes you passionate about your subject?

My passion for Sciences and Chemistry has been second to none since High School days. I have loved Science for quite of reasons, some of them are:

Innate Interest: I am curious about how things work, from the composition of everyday objects to the interactions of atoms and molecules.

Problem-Solving: The challenge of figuring out how to approach a problem, designing experiments, and interpreting results can be intellectually stimulating.

Improving Lives: Many scientific fields have direct applications to improving human lives and the environment. For example, chemistry contributes to advancements in medicine, materials science, and sustainable technologies.
  • What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

I find immense joy in tutoring due to the valuable feedback it provides. It's incredibly fulfilling when a student expresses heartfelt gratitude and acknowledges the impact of my assistance. Teaching is an inherent skill for me; I swiftly grasp my student's learning style and craft personalized lesson plans to support their ambitions. Being a top-tier professional in my field, I excel in meticulous planning and proactive measures, embodying the essence of a superb educator.
  • Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.

I had a professor in my third year of university when I was doing my bachelor's degree in biology. He was harsh, strict, and moody. I knew that's exactly what I didn't want to be when I became a teacher.
But, I loved him because he was a genius in his field. So I ventured out to combine being kind, sympathetic, understanding, while at the same time being an expert in the material I'm teaching. I visit him from time to time and let him know he was the reason I became involved in the academic and teaching field.
  • What are your keys to success?

I am driven by a deep passion for what I do, working from the heart rather than for financial gain. This sincerity is immediately apparent to my students, who recognize that I genuinely care about their learning journey and outcomes.

I believe my strength as a tutor lies in my ability to tailor my teaching approach to match each student's unique learning style. Alongside this adaptability, I maintain a high level of organization, punctuality, and professionalism in all that I do.

From the very first lesson, my students understand that they are receiving top-tier instruction. They appreciate the value they receive, recognizing that those who invest in tutoring services are seeking not just knowledge, but also a sense of genuine improvement and growth - something I am dedicated to delivering.
