About Scott
I toured around the United States as a performer with Stuart Pimsler Dance & Theater from 2014 - 2018, working as a teaching artist in residence with university dance departments including Virginia Tech, Weber State University, University of Minnesota, Mankato State University, and Michigan State University.
I am currently a dance faculty member at St. Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists in St. Paul, MN. SPCPA is recognized nationally as a premiere public high school in preparing students for a conservatory-style higher education – with numerous graduates going on to attend institutions such as Julliard and Tisch. I currently hold a Minnesota Teaching Licensure in Dance Education, and teach voguing, contemporary, and composition.
I have been a teaching artist in residence with The Cowles Center for Dance since 2018, and have conducted dance education workshops with learners across Minnesota and the nation. These programs include creative movement residencies with first grade, semester long residencies creating performance work with high school students, and technique classes with professional dancers.
Independent artist residency work includes dance master classes through the Minneapolis Institute of Art, The University of Minnesota, and a six- week dance teaching residency at Tapestry Dance in Minneapolis, MN. In 2022, I was commissioned by Land O’ Lakes Arts (LOLA), an arts organization in Northern Wisconsin, to provide dance programming in rural communities. I am currently choreographer in residence with Blue Water Theater in Minneapolis, choreographing musicals and theatrical productions.
In 2022, I began teaching outdoor qigong classes through Three Rivers Parks District in junction with Scott County, MN – as part of a city initiative to promote wellness through being outdoors.
My pedagogy is grounded in the belief that expression is vital and accessible to every individual. I seek to create a space of exploration, curiosity, and authentic release through movement.

Creative Movement:
Students will be introduced to fundamentals of creative movement – with an emphasis on exploration of body, action, space, time and energy. Each class is structured to include a warm up, movement activities, and a cool down – with content modifiable to be inclusive toward all levels and abilities. Classes include exercises to stimulate cardiovascular activity, choreographic exploration, guided improvisation, expressive release through dance, and introduction to concepts like levels, tempo, accumulation, and gesture.
Objectives:
1. Develop student’s artistry through exercises that connect dance fundamentals with individual expression.
2. Break down components of body, action, space, time and energy to de-mystify concepts of dance composition, improvisation, and movement exploration.
3. Encourage students to approach movement concepts with a sense of curiosity.
4. Build student’s confidence and agency as dancers – with an emphasis that all bodies are dancing bodies.
5. Establish a sense of joy and freedom with kinesthetic exploration.
Classes best suited for students ages 4 - 15.
Qigong / Stress Relief Through Movement:
Students will be guided through standing and seated exercises from qigong and tai chi to encourage stress relief, balance, and improve overall well-being. Content is modifiable to all levels, with no experience required. Students will gain techniques for quieting the mind, deepening the breath, and releasing tension.
Suitable for all ages.

Perfect! Good pacing, style, form. I knew nothing about dance, but now I have a routine to practice, and we had a really fun time.
