About Eric
I have been a drumset player for 20 years, and have spent half that time passing on my knowledge to students both younger and older.
My personal drumset experience is derived from being raised in a music-oriented household and beginning to play as a teen. Those lessons were taken to the next level when becoming part of Brick Memorial High School's marching band, one of the top marching programs on the East Coast. Upon graduating, I continued my musical education through college courses, personal pursuits, and online tutoring, while returning to my high school to provide group percussion instruction for an additional seven seasons. I have been teaching private and public students regularly ever since.
I currently perform with and am part owner of the entertainment group, Super Thrash Bros. Performing with this group for almost half of my musical career has provided me with invaluable experience about how to operate in a band setting, improve individually and as a group, and achieve tangible success with it. The group began as a simple jam band in the Pine Barrens and now regularly gets contracted for main event performances by pop culture conventions such as Colossalcon, RetroGameCon, Castle Point Anime Convention, and other events across the Eastern and Central US.
I have an unshakeable passion for music, whether it be performing or teaching, and seek to enkindle that same passion in my students.

-Ground-up approach to learning rhythm, technique, reading, and philosophy: Progress will be slow to start, but will establish all necessary foundation for future excellence. Students with existing understanding of these concepts will review these for consistency and move forward quickly.
-Democratic teaching: Students can expect to have a large say in the material that they learn. Fundamentals and building-block exercises will always be included in every lesson, but options will be presented among these to pursue at the student's interest. Students are encouraged to bring outside ideas, songs, and exercises to learn and discuss.
-Open to all clientele who are ready to invest in themselves: My instructor experience heavily favors middle-to-high-schoolers in terms of ability, understanding, and dedication, but adults willing to try something new or rekindle an old skill are more than welcome. Small children are also great students when genuinely interested, rather than forced by parents.
-Real world experience: I am an actively touring, professional musician that can impart knowledge about live performance, performance in a group setting, proper practice and rehearsal etiquette, interpersonal skills related to live performance, recording techniques, supplemental technologies, and musical/logistical responsibility.
