About Franklin
I work full time as a science teacher for a school in Wimbledon; one of the top 100 schools in the UK based on progress. I assist in mentoring Newly Qualified Teachers NQTs in addition to other pastoral and academic duties in my role as the Second in Charge of Physics. I am currently a moderator and examiner for AQA exam board for 3 years now, but I have over 6 years’ experience in teaching science at KS3 and KS4 and Physics at KS5. I have taught and regularly critique OCR, EDEXCEL and AQA curriculum and their exams. Therefore, I have access to the question bank and up to date information on changes in the pedagogy and the curriculum.
I have an impressive all round science subject knowledge: 5 A’ Level subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Math and Further Math - 2A*,2A and B), a B.Sc HONS in Physics, PGCE in Science with Physics and I have qualified teacher's status QTS. In school, I have been judge outstanding 4 times and once by OFSTED 2014. One of my core strengths being addressing students' needs (Professional Teacher's standard 5) and using formative assessment for learning (Professional Teacher's standard 6).
Prior to becoming a Qualified teacher, I ran the science club for my secondary school from year 10-13. I was paid to teach foundation Physics and ran tutorial sessions at university while doing my undergraduate degree.
Outside school, I work as a private tutor and as a UNICEF ambassador. I enjoy going on adventures often mountain climbing. I am into Judo 3 times a week graded 2nd kyo with recommendation to go on the coaching programme. I love playing football, reading STEM journals and playing video games. I also enjoy experimenting science concepts and/or creating models alone or with colleagues. I am also an active member of the National Union of Teachers NUT.
I have an excellent track record in private tuition including preparing students for the PAT exam (Physics Aptitude Test for Oxford). Students I have tutored have gained admission to Oxford, Cambridge, Exerter, Imperial, 4 gained admission into medical degree, ALL of them achieved above their predicted school targets with a few students making over 2 levels progress.
During tuition session, I often I offer pastoral support for free as requested. I do support in high school and university applications (what to look out for) among other things. I hope we can work together to sustain this excellent achievement.

Franklin started off tutoring my 2 children - one at GCSE - maths, Bio, Chem and Phy and the other at A level - Maths and Phy. It was very evident that Franklin as an examiner, excellent classroom teacher and head of department made my children enjoy Learning and made incredible progress. They were both 2 grade below their target grade in most subjects and in the final exams, they achieved 2 grades above their target grades. We were extremely pleased with the outcome and as a parent, I highly rate Franklin and strongly recommend any parent/guardian to take him on board.
