About Melissa
I am a professional pianist and have been playing piano since age 6. I have been teaching piano & music theory for over 10 years and understand how to help students with their questions or concerns about piano & music theory. Many of my past students were young children that just started learning piano and theory so I am very experienced with explaining concepts to younger kids.
I have my degree in English & Commerce from University of British Columbia (UBC) and have been tutoring other students in their English studies for more than 5 years.

Every student is unique so my lesson plans are based on the strength & weakness of each person. You can expect a personalized lesson plan that will give you in-depth knowledge of music theory, sight-reading, finger movement for piano, and musical pitch. I specialize in teaching piano and music theory at any grade level.
For English lessons, I specialize in working with ESL students who want or need to improve their English proficiency. We will work through lessons together and do lots of practice, because that is how you become a professional English speaker!
