About Yara
I’m a singing tutor with over 10 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Voice. I’m passionate about helping students build vocal confidence and overcome performance anxiety. Singing should be fun and freeing, and I guide my students to connect emotionally with every song they sing. I teach a range of styles including Pop, Indie, R\&B, and Contemporary Worship. My lessons focus on breath control, expressive phrasing, and maintaining vocal health. I also offer live performance coaching to prepare students for the stage with confidence. Whether you’re a shy beginner, a teen performer, or an aspiring recording artist, I tailor my teaching to meet your unique needs. I believe every voice is special and deserves to be heard. Together, we work on unlocking your true sound while enjoying the process. Finding your voice is a journey, and I’m here to support you every step of the way. My singing methodology focuses on vocal wellness, mindfulness, and long-term voice care for both The Soloist in Training and The Church Ensemble Player. Warm-ups are essential, starting with gentle humming and lip trills to prepare the voice without strain. I emphasize healthy vocal placement to protect the vocal cords and encourage natural resonance. Hydration is key—drinking water throughout practice helps keep the voice flexible and strong.
For The Soloist in Training, I balance intense vocal goals with moments of mental calm, using mindfulness timers to pause and reset during practice. The Church Ensemble Player benefits from breathwork tools that promote steady, relaxed breathing to support group singing and prevent fatigue. Both personas learn to listen to their bodies, avoiding overuse and embracing rest as part of care.
Tracking progress with vocal apps helps keep motivation positive and focused. Guided breathwork exercises enhance control and reduce tension. Singing becomes a joyful experience, where growth and calm go hand in hand. This gentle approach ensures the voice stays healthy and strong for years to come.
