About the lesson
I have loved Science, Math and Technology since I was a child and have taught children through adults in both academic and public settings. I take a hands on approach to teaching by immersing students in the richest sensory environment I can. We read it, write it, say it, do it, taste it, smell it, sing it and share it.
I have volunteered for "Science Days" at the elementary school level, been a Presenter at "Expanding Your Horizons" for middle and high school girls, taught High School Earth Science, Chemistry, Biology, Geology, Math and Technology, taught the Geology Merit Badge for Scouts and given public Presentations in State Parks. I currently volunteer at the Burke Museum at the University of Washington in the Vertebrate Paleontology Lab preparing specimens for study and display. I love learning new things and never turn down an opportunity to take a new class on anything related to preserving the physical and natural environments for future generations. I am a life-long learner and love to share it through teaching. I have taught for 20 years, kindergarten through higher education, because it is fun!
I Love to get dirty playing with scientists in the field, collecting samples and viewing the interactions of living creatures with their environments. I like learning and understanding how different cultures value, use and honor the living and non-living environments that support life on our planet. I like to photograph and film this beautiful place we call Earth and support its preservation. I am a gadget geek and love learning to use new tools, both simple and technological. I like to collect data and make cool graphs or make art and music that communicates science.

I have had 1000's of students and have at least 6 I know of who have become scientists, many nurses and doctors and many who have become teachers themselves.
