During these years, I've been the recipient of five teaching awards, awarded from the LSE, including an award in Innovative Teaching. I've also taken part in the selection process of incoming undergraduate students at both the University of Oxford and the dual degree of Columbia and Sciences Po. I have officially taught in the past GMiM and MiM students at LSE (its MBA "equivalent"). I also run a business and manage an investment portfolio of over half a million British pounds which was started from nothing 10 years ago. My approach to tutoring borrows from the Socratic approach of a question-centric form of teaching. A serious emphasis is placed on the structure and content of the exam in question. I structure my tutorials so that relevant past exam questions are always an integral part of learning. Here is what former LSE students have said, via anonymous surveys: “Even though Revi was not my assigned class teacher, whenever I did attend his classes, he would always go the extra mile to make sure we understood inside out the topic of the class. Wherever possible, Revi would apply what we had learnt to the real world, making every class stimulating and inspirational. His teaching made the course one of my favourites at the LSE, and he made the course a joy to study.” “Made subject matter inspirational” “He inspires the class and motivates each one to push in more.” “Excellent variety of teaching methods which allows students to engage with the course material in a practical way. Also goes beyond the course to ensure students have relevant theories which can be applied in a practical sense. Uses current market issues and structures to teach the theory of industrial economics from a modern-day perspective” “Revi's intelligent use of well-placed questions to engage students and involve them in his explanations removes the abstractness of microeconomics and brings the subject to life. As an applied discipline, this is obviously of huge importance, and Revi's frequent use of "look around you" examples transforms odd, theoretical concepts into simple, intuitive ideas. Whereas the rest of my teachers at LSE use questions arbitrarily without purpose (often slowing the class down, especially as students are reluctant to put their hand up to answer easy questions), Revi has clearly put thought into when, how and what he asks. He also picks out students to answer. I cannot stress how much of a difference this has made. As students, we're all on our toes, we're actually paying attention and when we're thrown a difficult question, we make an effort to answer it (there's no longer a fear of putting your hand up and looking stupid). I would love to go on but the character limit cuts me off...” “Is a teacher that is passionate about his subject and makes himself available to students at all times. He is an excellent teacher of the course content. For example, he taught us Game Theory by giving us an interesting history of the subject and then asking us what problems we had with the problem set, before specifically addressing these issues and clarifying all of our problems. He consistently gets people outside his class attending his classes because he is a quality teacher.”

I recommend Dr. Revi Panidha to all Superprof users for a premium tutoring experience.
Revi was both my mentor and my teacher. I have been working with him intensively for about two years. Those years marked the most significant period of growth for me, both academically and professionally. He is, without a doubt, the best teacher/mentor/tutor one can ask for. If you have the opportunity to work with Revi consider yourself very fortunate. I feel truly blessed to have worked with him and I am so thankful for the experience I gained during those times.
Revi has helped me with my university application process and has been crucial to my acceptance at my chosen university. He acted as a dedicated mentor, giving feedback and supporting me throughout. Working with Revi has taught me to be consistent and hardworking. I highly recommend working with him if you need meaningful support.
Revi is patient, approachable, and genuinely committed to his students’ success. He created a supportive learning environment that made it easy to ask questions and engage with the material. Thanks to his guidance, I have gained a much deeper understanding of economics and feel confident in applying the concepts in my coursework and beyond.
I wholeheartedly recommend Revi to anyone seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated economics tutor. He would be an invaluable asset to any student looking to excel in this challenging field. It's not just his teaching skills that impress me. Revi was a joy to work with because of his positive attitude and ability to never give up on a student. His commitment and empathy were necessary and valued by myself. I am absolutely confident that Revi is a great fit for all types of students. Not only can he bring the kind of skills and experiences you're looking for in a candidate, but he can also quickly become an asset and help both your growth.
I've known Revi in various capacities over ten years now. He is incredibly approachable, and goes out of his way to help his students. He has a very intuitive and lucid way of explaining difficult concepts, and he puts in a tremendous amount of work preparing his lessons, all of which make it really easy for his students to gain a deeper and clearer understanding of the subject.
Brilliant, empathetic, and rigorous. These are some of the key traits that define Revi as a teacher. I first got to know him when I took his Econometrics class at SciencesPo Paris where he was absolutely phenomenal from day 1. Even though we were covering a vast topic, he would break content matter into the fundamentals and then build up from there. Not only did that make learning easier, but it also equipped each one of us to be fluent in the content we were studying and independently think about more complex matters.
Apart from in class teaching, he is also very accessible when it comes to individual questions and doubts, painstakingly and patiently explaining questions and concepts in a personalised way. Even his teaching methodology is very practical and case based - for example in the Econometrics course we would often analyse the methodology of published journal articles and independently verify their results to really see how insights can be drawn from data.
Buoyed by this positive experience I subsequently took his Macroeconomics and Development Economics lectures in the following semester, which were also brilliant. As a concluding note I would like to add that apart from being an inspired teacher Revi is also a great mentor and guide. He is empathetic to your concerns and pragmatic in his advice, not just with respect to the coursework, but also your overall academic and professional plans including graduate school admissions, internship applications, and extracurricular activities. His experiences as a teacher and student at places like Oxford, LSE, and SciencesPo, make him an excellent guide for students navigating their academic and early career plans. People generally have to be successful at really rigorous university admissions processes to get the chance to study from teachers like Revi - the fact that you can access them here without going through those loops is a great privilege and opportunity, and I would fully recommend making the best use of it!Revi was a great teacher and always took the time in office hours to explain things in detail and go over questions. I was really impressed by how dedicated Revi was and am really grateful to have had him as a teacher!
Revi and I met 8 years ago, when we were in the same postgraduate program in Oxford. We also worked together these last years in both LSE and Sciences Po.
The first things that come to mind about him are brightness and empathy.
The fact that he has become one of the best tutors and a uni professor just makes sense when you know him.
--> "So, what's so special about this guy?"
That would and should be the question any potential student would ask.
Well, first let's deal with the brilliant part by simply having a quick look at his outstanding CV. More than 10 years of tutoring already, trained in Oxford, he has been teaching for years there, as well as in LSE.
--> "Ok, of course he is brilliant, great CV, so what?"
Indeed you have surely met a lot of great minds among your uni professors, and still were not convinced by their teaching. Sometimes they might be focused too much on research, or don't know how to make a notion simple for you, because it is too obvious for them.
Well that's when you want to hire a guy like Revi. First, Revi has pleasure in what he does. He LIKES teaching. He chose to do it, and he chose to improve in get better in this specific field.
I would know, because when I was just starting to embrace the tutoring career 6 years ago, Revi has been one of my most inspiring figures.
The way he thinks about transmission, the creativity he puts in his teaching approach, the fun he has using technology to make everything smoother for students... in every way he raised the bar to what seemed to be unfathomable levels.
I had no idea tutoring could reach that level of commitment, and I was impressed. Although I did have the passion for the job and loved sharing, I still needed to channel this will to transmit in the right direction.
Many conversations, advice from Revi helped me become better at what I do. He took time to explain how he does it, to show me the emphasis he puts on clarifying tricky concepts... All of this always with a smile on his face, teaching me at the same time without even knowing it that enthusiasm and kindness are part of the process.
I guess I was also one of his tutee in a way, and in the end I can say with gratefulness that it helped me become a better version of myself.I have known Revi for the past few years and he has been both a great teacher and mentor to me. During my master studies, game theory had always been a black hole for me. I would blindly apply rules to solve the exercises without understanding much of what I was doing. Revi was very patient in explaining all the underlying concepts that I was missing. Furthermore, with his teaching methods, he taught me how to assimilate and make the knowledge mine so that I would not easily forget the material.
For the past 3 years, Revi has not only been my teacher for topics in economics, econometrics and statistics that I am not comfortable with, but he has also been my mentor in my teaching career. His approach to both simple and complicated topics is eye-opening and easy to understand. His sessions always have a set goal and are very interactive. It is also very helpful that he provides access to further material that is helpful for learning.I have known Revi for many years, and he is by far the best teacher I have seen in my life. Not only does he have a formidable experience as a class teacher, private tutor, lecturer etc, but he is also always striving to be the best at what he does.
He finds innovative ways of teaching difficult material, and is willing to use all kinds of methods to make sure that students understand the fundamental concepts. For instance, his use of technology in his classes is unparalleled, and he is perfectly equipped to teach both in person and online classes.
As a fellow university lecturer, I am very grateful to him for all the advice he has given me on how to become a more effective teacher, and I know that I still have a lot to learn from him.View more recommendations
