About Dawson

I was the Iowa all-state jazz bassist of 2017 during high school. Afterward, I was accepted, with a scholarship, to the McNally Smith Music School in St. Paul, but I opted to study in Nashville I received my technical degree in live sound engineering. Currently, I am auditioning at many music schools in Germany to acquire my certificates in music and bass performance. I currently play music with a band and various artists in Chicago, and I also work as an independent consultant doing sound engineering.

About the lesson

Should you choose to study with me, our first lesson will be constructed to understand your current position with your instrument or course of study and for me to know where you are in the learning process. From there, I will create a customized study plan to suit your desires and needs for better comprehensive learning. I want your lessons with me to be congruent with your journey, abilities, and desires and provide a nurturing environment to learn and grow.

I have been playing bass and guitar for many genres of music and in various settings, such as jazz, punk, musical applications, orchestral settings, math-rock, and many others.

My lessons are geared towards those who have no experience or little experience and wish to learn more about their instrument or music theory, but this is not a prerequisite. I am happy to help anyone at any skill level.

My main goal is to give you the tools and advice to achieve various proficiency levels in a comfortable and safe learning environment.
