About Sarah

I have a Certificate in Voice Teaching from the Berklee College of Music and 7 years of experience teaching singing to students of all ages, from young children to adults. I love helping people discover their unique voice and build confidence in a supportive, encouraging environment. My approach focuses on keeping your voice healthy while learning techniques that work for any style of music you want to sing. I've helped many shy students overcome their nervousness about singing and discover they have beautiful voices they never knew existed. My teaching methods include giving immediate, helpful feedback during lessons, which research shows helps students improve much faster than waiting to fix problems later. I create personalized practice plans and song suggestions that match what each student enjoys and can handle at their skill level.

About the lesson

Singing lessons start with learning how to use your breathing and posture to help your voice sound its best and stay healthy. We begin with gentle warm-up exercises that feel good and never strain your voice. Then we work on songs you really want to sing - whether that's popular music, classic songs, or anything else you love. I show you the correct singing techniques first, then we practice together, and then you try singing while I give you helpful tips to make you sound better right away. If you're interested in learning piano too, I can teach you basic piano skills to go along with your singing, like playing simple melodies or chords that support your voice. This is completely your choice and only if you want to learn both. Every lesson includes small, achievable goals so you can hear yourself improving each week. I also give you fun practice exercises to do between lessons that help you get better faster.
