About Penelope

I’m a singing tutor with over 5 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music Education with a focus in Voice. My greatest joy is helping students tell stories through song—where every phrase carries emotion and meaning. I specialize in Jazz Standards, Broadway solos, and the Golden Age repertoire that continues to inspire generations. My teaching blends technique with heart. I love working on swing phrasing, jazz ornamentation, and shaping characters through vocal color and interpretation. I also teach lead sheet reading so singers feel confident and flexible with both written and improvised material. I work closely with passionate adults, experienced singers, and community theater actors who want to refine their craft. Whether you're preparing for an audition or returning to singing after years away, I offer a supportive space where your voice can thrive. Together, we explore style, expression, and vocal health to make sure every note you sing tells your story. Each lesson is personalized, energetic, and grounded in classic vocal technique. I believe music should feel as good as it sounds. Let’s bring timeless songs to life—with style, emotion, and the charm that only your voice can offer.

About the lesson

My singing teaching approach is grounded in strong technique and joyful expression. I help students build breath control, develop vocal stamina, and improve pitch accuracy through focused daily exercises. Each lesson starts with warm-ups that support healthy vocal habits and build confidence from the inside out.

We explore how the breath connects to sound and how resonance shaping can bring out your natural tone. I guide learners to understand their voice, use it safely, and stretch their range with care. Whether you're learning to sing solo or within a group, I support your ability to blend, lead, and listen.

Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals and pace. We set clear weekly goals that support long-term growth, no matter your level. I offer specific feedback and practice strategies to help you improve steadily and stay motivated.

For those preparing for auditions, performances, or ensemble work, I create structured, encouraging routines that build assurance and vocal presence. My aim is to make every student feel strong, supported, and proud of their progress. With time and practice, you’ll sing with power, control, and heart.
