Many people imagine history to be a boring, fact based class, but so much of Social Studies is about understanding the connections between the past and the present. Making these connections brings history to life and makes understanding social decisions of the past so much easier. Having someone who can make these connections clear, draw empathy and understanding from current events and pop culture, makes history not only interesting but opens new windows for understanding the world today!
I am a young licensed Social Studies education teacher who has taught over 500 students in just 3 years. I have degrees from Columbia University and the University at Albany in History and Education. When students walk out of my class they feel confident, prepared, and ready to succeed in Social Studies, in school, and as global citizens. Many of my students have gone on to top high schools and universities submitting argumentative/thesis papers we have worked on to perfect!
Test prep will be an additional 2 dollars an hour for tests such as AP exams, IB exams, CLEP exams, entrance exams, etc. Cancellation without 24 hour notice before appointment will pay half of the tutoring session.
Secondary Education Social Studies Teacher
I am a 5th year teacher who started my career in the NYC school district. I believe that taking an honest approach to current events in Social Studies not only keeps students engaged but helps foster civic responsibility that will carry them into adulthood. Ultimately fostering a creative, culturally relevant, and inclusive classroom promotes student success as academics and as civic participants in an ever changing world.

I think Nicole is a trustworthy teacher because she really connects with her students and she pushes them to do their best. She also tries to find a way to help her school with anything. She genuinely loves teaching and is amazing at it, which pushes students to share that enthusiasm.

Ms.Rai was one of the best teachers I ever had. The way she taught made me love history more. She understood how the students felt everyday, so she would teach a certain wait according to her students mood. She was my favorite teacher and everyone respects her. And I mean everyone... all the bad kids, the good kids, everyone did. She makes learning more fun and everyone had enjoyed her lessons. If it was up to me I would have her teach me history for the rest of my life.
