About Shae
Hi! My name is Shae Wells and I am a sophomore at the University of South Florida! I have worked with kids all of my life whether as a tutor, babysitter, or camp counselor. I am super excited to continue:) I have loved getting the opportunity to work with students in the past and see them grow in confidence and ability! My job is to support, be patient, and help as much as I possibly can:)

I am a sophomore at the University of South Florida who tutors math/algebra for elementary/middle schoolers. I tutored a lot in high school to students that just needed more one on one time with someone devoted to their success in class. Elementary and middle school sets up the foundation for math that gets more complex in high school and beyond. All students should have the opportunity to be self-assured in their academic capabilities- sometimes they just need a little more support. I have found a lot of success come from example after example. For math especially, it helps greatly to watch and collaborate on practice problems so that students get enough confidence to work problems through on their own. The goal is for students to fully understand rather than just memorize the process.
A typical session would include:
- If they have it, going through student's homework together
- Find problem areas and explain
- Go through practice examples until they can do it solo
- If they have it, working on previous tests/quizzes
