About María del Carmen
I'm an English teacher with almost 25 years of experience.
I graduated from Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia and I have been teaching ESP courses and EGAP courses for both undergraduate and graduate students. I have also been teaching Spanish to non-native speakers for six years.
I specialize in integrating language skills during the classes and training students to adopt an independent attitude towards his or her own learning process. I guide the students in a very responsible manner towards the fact of getting autonomy and responsibility in their learning process.

I use Communicative approach and integrated skills during my classes. it is necessary to have a continuous interaction with the student and to create an autonomous attitude in the student so that he or she obtains the tools to guide his or her knowledge and to have lots of practice during the class and outside the class.
I use songs, movies, books, reviews from movies, books and different manifestations of art. I select the reading material according to the student's interests and needs and I take the student to effective strategies for he or she understands both
general or specific written texts..
