About Kelsey

I am a Spanish tutor with 9 years of experience and a Master of Arts in Spanish Language Pedagogy. Over the years, I have specialized in working creatively with neurodivergent young learners. My lessons are patient, adaptive, and focused on helping children build a positive relationship with language. I often use sensory activities to make Spanish come alive through touch, sound, and movement. Visual schedules provide structure and predictability, giving learners a clear path through each lesson. I also rely on specialized communication techniques that support children in expressing themselves at their own pace. Every learning plan I design is individualized. I take time to understand each child’s strengths, challenges, and interests, and then shape lessons around them. This allows me to create an environment where Spanish feels accessible and exciting. My focus is always on building communication skills and celebrating every small victory. Whether it’s saying a new word, recognizing a phrase, or initiating a short exchange, progress is recognized and valued. I believe that success is not only measured in fluency, but also in confidence and joy. Above all, I want children to discover a love for language. With patience, creativity, and encouragement, I make Spanish a tool for expression, connection, and fun. Language learning can be a gentle and joyful journey, and I am here to walk that path with every child.

About the lesson

My teaching approach in Spanish is relaxed, conversation-focused, and built around real communication. I believe language learning should feel natural, not forced. That’s why I focus on everyday communication and the kind of Spanish people actually use. Lessons cover informal speech, texting styles, and common slang that help learners sound authentic and confident.

I use authentic materials such as videos, chats, and real-life dialogues to bring Spanish into daily life. Instead of memorizing lists, learners practice through meaningful conversations. This creates comfort in speaking and listening, even in casual situations. Social confidence is a key goal, so I design activities that make learners feel at ease when starting or joining conversations.

I am especially good at working with newcomers and conversational learners. My lessons are patient, supportive, and tailored to help them build confidence step by step. Every student gets guidance that fits their pace and personality. Some need gentle practice, while others enjoy fast, engaging dialogue.

Problem-solving also plays a role, as I help students overcome hesitations or misunderstandings in real-time. Each lesson is practical, clear, and fun. Over time, learners begin to think in Spanish and use it naturally.
