I employ a personalized, Socratic, and application-based method:
- Diagnostic Start: Each lesson begins with a quick conversation about what you found most challenging since our last session or in your current class chapter. I identify the precise point where understanding breaks down.
- Conceptual Foundation First: Before diving into problems, I ensure the core concept is clear. I use analogies, visual sketches, and real-world examples (drawing from my research experience) to make abstract ideas concrete.
- Guided Problem-Solving: We then tackle problems together. I demonstrate my preferred method, but crucially, I also show alternative approaches. I encourage students to talk through their reasoning, which helps me correct misconceptions in real-time.
- "Now You Drive" Method: After we've worked through a problem type, I give you a similar one to solve independently. This builds confidence and proves that you can do it. I'm there to provide gentle guidance if you get stuck.
- Strategic Toolbox Building: I don't just teach subjects; I teach how to learn and how to problem-solve. This includes study strategies, how to prepare for exams, and how to approach word problems systematically.
