I was born in the United States, but Russian was my first language, and I still speak, read, and write it fluently; I have participated in the National Russian Essay Contest twice, and both times I was a gold medalist, and the second time my essay was one of three to be sent to a university in Russia to be published in a magazine

I will first assess the student’s existing level of skill and familiarity with the language, and then structure lessons based on where the student is to begin with. For a student with no experience with the language, I will start with the alphabet, followed by very simple words and phrases, and continue on from there at a pace that the student is comfortable with. For a student with some level of experience, I will most likely begin with a refresher of what they already know, and then jump into new material at the appropriate point. I will most likely use one or several workbooks or textbooks to help guide the student along, and will assign homework to be completed between lessons. I will provide guidance and support every step of the way.
