I approach each encounter with a student centered view. I consider what skills would be most important for the student to learn in order to ensure success. Access to the general education curriculum should be fair and equal across all levels of ability. I look at way to accommodate, modify and present the information in the most understandable way for the student.
I am currently a special education teacher in an inclusive elementary school setting. I have twenty years of experience providing excellent educational opportunities for students who have various disabilities. I have worked in settings across all areas of special education including self contained, inclusion and resource. My experience includes working with students who have been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD, autism, learning disabilities and emotional disabilities.
