About Philimon
Hello! My name is Philimon, and I am currently a student at the University of Cape Coast. Although my degree program is in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, English has always been one of my strongest subjects. Since JHS, I have consistently achieved A’s in all English-related courses. In SHS, I served as the debate captain, where I developed strong communication and public speaking skills. I have also won several awards in English quizzes and competitions. Recently, at the university, I was recognized by my lecturer for my exceptional performance in Communicative Skills. Alongside my studies, I have taught in basic schools, giving me real teaching experience and the ability to work patiently with young learners. This experience has shaped my teaching style to be clear, interactive, and results oriented. These experiences have strengthened my confidence and passion for English, and they allow me to connect with students in a way that is both relatable and motivating. I enjoy making lessons simple, practical, and interactive so that learners can quickly improve their grammar, essay writing, comprehension, and speaking abilities. As a patient and approachable tutor, I focus on understanding the individual needs of each student and creating lessons that match their goals, whether it is exam preparation, academic improvement, or building communication confidence. I strongly believe that with the right guidance and consistent practice, anyone can excel in English. My aim is to help students not only achieve excellent grades but also develop lifelong communication skills that will benefit them in every area of life.

My lessons are student-centered and flexible, designed to meet the needs of each learner. I usually start by identifying the student’s current level in English (through a short discussion or simple test). This helps me understand strengths, weak areas, and specific goals such as exam preparation, grammar improvement, or speaking practice.
Each lesson is interactive. I explain concepts in simple language, give practical examples, and encourage students to ask questions freely. For grammar and writing, I use short exercises and past exam questions to build confidence step by step. For speaking, I focus on conversational English and pronunciation practice to improve fluency.
I believe learning is most effective when it is enjoyable, so I use real-life examples, stories, and simple activities to keep lessons engaging. My students don’t just memorize rules, they learn how to apply English in schoolwork, exams, and everyday communication.
Lessons can be structured as one-on-one tutoring or small group sessions, depending on the student’s preference. At the end of each class, I give quick feedback and sometimes short assignments to reinforce learning.
My main goal is to make English easy, practical, and enjoyable so that students not only perform well academically but also gain confidence in expressing themselves clearly.
