About Catherine
Originally born in China, I was adopted and grew up in America. Interested in learning more about my heritage, I attended a Chinese immersion school from 1-8 grade. I continued with Chinese into high school and college. For a school trip in 8th grade, I visited Beijing, Inner Mongolia, and Xi’an.

Lessons will be done remotely over Zoom. First we’ll go over where you’re at with Chinese. If this is your first time learning Chinese, we’ll focus on pronunciation and basic characters. If you have some experience with Chinese, I’ll give you a new vocabulary list with every lesson, and review vocabulary from the previous lesson. I’ll also help you differentiate between the different tones when speaking and listening. Or if you don’t want new vocabulary, I’m happy to converse with you in Chinese so you can practice
