About Reuben

When I first moved to the UK, I struggled to adjust everything from the language to the academic style felt overwhelming at times. But through patience, practice, and the support of others, I gradually built the confidence and skills I needed to succeed That experience shaped the way I see teaching. I know what it feels like to be new, uncertain, and trying to find your footing. That’s why I want to teach to make the journey easier for others. I aim to create lessons that are fun, approachable, and practical, so that students don’t just learn, but also feel supported and motivated. I’ve worked with Indonesian students arriving in the UK, helping them adapt to their new environment, and I’ve seen how much difference the right guidance can make. For me, teaching is not only about sharing knowledge but also about being a mentor and cheerleader during an important transition.

About the lesson

My Approach to Tutoring Techniques and Teaching Methodology I focus on making lessons engaging, practical, and easy to follow. I use real-life examples, interactive activities, and plenty of practice to help students understand concepts in a way that feels natural rather than overwhelming. My goal is to create a friendly learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and can learn at their own pace. Typical Length of a Lesson Each lesson is 1 hour long, which allows enough time to cover key topics, practice together, and review progress without feeling rushed. Qualifications and Experience I have experience tutoring Indonesian students who have recently arrived in the UK, helping them adjust to academic expectations, improve their study skills, and build confidence in a new learning environment. Who the Lessons Are For My lessons are designed for new university starters, particularly those adjusting to studying in the UK. Whether it’s academic support, adapting to new systems, or improving communication and study strategies, I provide tailored guidance to help students succeed.
