About Eliza
I specialize in teaching flute to adult learners because I deeply value the unique perspectives, patience, and commitment they bring to the learning process. If you’ve ever said “I’ve always wanted to play an instrument,” I’m here to help you finally turn that desire into reality—without pressure, fear, or confusion. My teaching begins with listening: to your goals, your experiences, and your hopes for what music can bring into your life. Lessons are completely tailored, from pacing to repertoire. We’ll start by learning how to breathe into sound, hold the flute without strain, and play simple, satisfying melodies. Over time, we’ll build fluency in rhythm, tone, and reading notation, with a curriculum that adjusts to how you learn best. I use encouragement as my main teaching tool, along with resources like visual diagrams, looping tracks for slow practice, and accessible sheet music arrangements. Most of my students find themselves playing songs they love within a few weeks—not because we rush, but because we focus on connection over perfection. Music is not a test. It’s a journey, and I’d love to walk that path with you.

My flute lessons are all about helping adult learners feel empowered, engaged, and inspired—whether you’re holding a flute for the first time or returning after a long break. I understand the unique strengths and challenges that come with learning music later in life, and I shape every lesson around your goals, energy, and experience. I combine the structure of classical training with a flexible, student-led pace that leaves space for curiosity and growth.
Using innovative tools like adjustable tempo tracks, breathing awareness exercises, and digital note-taking, I help you build skills in a way that feels natural and motivating. I put a strong emphasis on tone development, rhythm fluency, and expressive playing, while also encouraging improvisation and ear training to boost your musical intuition. In my studio, there is no such thing as “too late”—just new beginnings and joyful milestones.
