About Sara

With over 10 years of teaching experience and a degree in piano performance, I focus on providing personalized and engaging lessons that cater to the unique needs of every student. I take a student-centered approach, customizing each lesson to ensure that students are motivated, challenged, and excited to learn. For beginners, I focus on the essential building blocks, such as proper hand technique, reading music, and understanding basic rhythm. Through simple exercises and songs, I help students gain confidence in their ability to play the piano and lay a solid foundation for future learning. As students progress, I incorporate more complex music theory, advanced rhythm exercises, and sight-reading practice to further develop their technical skills. I also introduce more challenging pieces, ensuring that students are constantly engaged and motivated to improve. My lessons are diverse and include a mix of classical, jazz, pop, and contemporary music, ensuring that students are exposed to a wide range of musical styles and genres. I believe in the importance of creativity and self-expression, so I encourage students to explore improvisation and composition, allowing them to connect with music in a deeper, more personal way. Additionally, I focus on building performance skills, helping students prepare for recitals, exams, and other performance opportunities. I believe that performance not only enhances technical ability but also builds confidence, stage presence, and musical expression. With a Master’s degree in music and over 10 years of experience teaching piano, I am committed to providing a nurturing and flexible learning environment. My teaching philosophy centers around the belief that music is for everyone, regardless of age or background. Whether you are just starting your musical journey or looking to refine your skills, I offer tailored lessons that are responsive to your individual pace and interests. For beginners, we start with basic techniques, such as hand positioning and simple scales, progressing to more advanced topics like advanced finger exercises, arpeggios, and exploring different musical styles. I incorporate music theory, ear training, and sight-reading into each lesson to build a well-rounded understanding of music. Throughout the process, I aim to cultivate not only technical skill but also creativity and self-expression. I use a combination of classical pieces and modern music to ensure students are exposed to a wide range of genres. As students progress, we dive into more complex repertoire, helping them tackle difficult pieces while fostering confidence in their abilities. I also encourage students to explore improvisation, which adds an exciting element to the lessons and enhances their musical understanding.
