About Oluwa

I approach saxophone teaching with the belief that every student has their own potential, and it’s my job to help them unlock it. My lessons are specifically designed to cater to the individual, considering factors such as skill level, learning style, and musical aspirations. My primary focus is on creating a solid foundation in the basics—breath control, embouchure, and tone production—while also introducing more complex techniques such as articulation, phrasing, and dynamics. As students progress, I challenge them with more advanced material and techniques to continue expanding their musical abilities. What makes my lessons unique is the emphasis on creativity and personal expression. I strongly encourage students to experiment with improvisation and interpretation, helping them develop their own voice as musicians. I also integrate real songs into my lessons, allowing students to apply their skills to music they enjoy, which makes the learning process more enjoyable and rewarding. I recognize that learning an instrument can sometimes be frustrating, which is why I provide consistent, constructive feedback to help students work through challenges. My lessons are designed to be motivational and fun, with clear goals and achievable milestones. Whether students are preparing for a performance or simply learning for personal enjoyment, my approach fosters both technical mastery and a deep love of music.

I am passionate about helping each student achieve their musical goals by adapting my teaching methods to suit their needs. Whether you're starting from scratch or looking to refine your skills, I focus on building a strong technical foundation through breath control, finger coordination, and tone production. But beyond these fundamental techniques, my teaching philosophy emphasizes the importance of creativity and expression. I believe that learning the saxophone should be an enjoyable and personal journey. I incorporate a variety of methods, including rhythm exercises, improvisation, and familiar tunes that students enjoy, to keep lessons interesting and fun. Students also receive real-time feedback during each session to help them track their progress and fine-tune their technique. I encourage students to explore different genres of music, from jazz to classical, and work with them to develop their own unique style. Whether you want to perform in a group or simply enjoy playing for fun, I provide lessons that are motivating, supportive, and tailored to your individual musical aspirations. My goal is to make sure that you not only learn how to play the saxophone but also develop a deeper connection with music.
