I'm a Doctor of Nuclear Engineering.
I have retired from full-time work after years in both US government research and applied teaching in the United Arab Emirates.
I'm familiar with the SAT (Systematic Approach to Training) and functionalist methods of teaching, and have worked with dozens of students one-on-one at this point, some from their early career to their own doctorates.
I'm fun, cheerful, and my teaching style is generally Socratic. Expect to answer lots of questions that will guide you to the right solution using critical thinking and analysis.
I abhor needless repetition, and while I do test prep for students, I never teach "to the test."
At the Idaho National Laboratory I was the lead for training and teaching incoming interns. Similarly I've been the primary teacher for nuclear physics and safeguards for my former UAE government employers.
I've been giving private lessons for students since completing my BS (quite some time ago). The majority of my students are now gainfully employed, with the majority having degrees (a few Ph. Ds are in there too!).
Available for Mathematics (Introductory -> Graduate), Physics (Introductory -> Mechanical and Nuclear), History, Analysis, Statistics, International Relations.
Ph. D Nuclear Engineering, former US Government Research Scientist and UAE Nuclear Material tracking teacher. Two patents.
Honestly, I'm teaching more because this is my may of giving back. I'm not interested in getting students "on the hook" for a million lessons. I want them to learn critical thinking, fix where the school system has not supported them, and get them back to high function.
