About Olivia

I graduated magma cum laude with a Bachelors Degree in Molecular Biology. In college, I led Organic Chemistry labs and tutored fellow students in Biochemistry. I held online sessions to answer any questions the students might have had and had a prepared lesson if they did not have any questions. I also made myself available for one on one sessions as needed.

I took my passion for teaching with me after graduating and earned my certification in Science 7th-12th grade. I had the pleasure of teaching Physics and Biology, which allowed me to teach freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors. After teaching high schoolers, I felt a calling to teach the younger grade levels. I began teaching 5th grade common core, allowing me to build skills teaching all subjects. I then earned my certification in common core education for early childhood to 6th grade with the Science of Teaching Reading.

On my path to get my certifications, I took the Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities Exam, Core EC-6 Exam, Science 7-12 Content Exam, and the Science of Teaching Reading Exam. After receiving my scores, I am more than confident in my ability to tutor for these exams.

About the lesson

My current and past students say I make learning these notoriously hard subjects understandable and fun when possible. I strive to make what I’m teaching feel attainable for the student and ensure they are able to succeed in reaching their goals. Please feel free contact me for more information.
