About Ali
Studying at Harvard -- concentrating in Theater, Dance, & Media as an undergraduate and Dramatic Arts as a graduate student, I learned nearly every traditional approach to acting I could find (and a few less-traditional approaches as well). I have trained in Fitzmaurice Voicework, Knight Thompson Speechwork, Alexander Technique, and Lucid Body Technique.
With all this in mind, each actor works and responds in their own way. While Meisner's repetitions might speak to some students, Adler's Imagination work may be the key for others--some may be more inclined to look at vocal anatomy for speechwork, while others may respond better to musicality and feel. All this means that, working with me, there are a lot of tools at your disposal--and we'll have fun finding what works best for you!

- Getting to know you as a performer
- Learning your goals, present project
- A light vocal warmup (if comfortable)
- A light physical warmup (if comfortable)
- Monologue or scene selection (if necessary)
- A chance to play with the text (etude work)
- Reflection and setting intentions for next session
