About Bruce
I have background in teaching English as a foreign language in Japan and as a second language in several US colleges and universities. In addition I taught teachers in training to be ESL teachers. Most recently I taught academic English and academic skills courses to international students at the University of Oregon.

I am a learner centered teacher. My belief is that every student brings special knowledge and skills to learning and I focus on bringing out that knowledge and those skills as a foundation for my teaching and tutoring. I also believe that teaching involves creating a partnership between teacher and student with the goal of learning together.
