About Mina

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Music with a concentration in violin performance and have been teaching violin for over 7 years. My journey with the instrument began in childhood, and what started as a hobby quickly turned into a lifelong pursuit. Through formal education and continuous study, I’ve developed a strong foundation in both classical training and modern approaches to string pedagogy. Over the years, I’ve worked with students of all ages and experience levels—from young children learning their first scales to adults returning to music after years away. I strive to make every lesson personal and rewarding, adapting my teaching style to match each student’s learning pace and goals. I find that students thrive when lessons are structured but flexible, with room for exploration and joy. Aside from teaching, I’ve performed with small ensembles, local orchestras, and as a soloist in various community events. These performance experiences have shaped the way I approach lessons—bringing a practical, musical context to everything from scales to full concert pieces. I also enjoy arranging music to suit students’ tastes and encourage creativity in their learning. Teaching violin is deeply fulfilling to me because it allows me to witness growth, both musical and personal, in each student. I value patience, persistence, and musicality, and I aim to foster those same qualities in my students. More than just learning notes, I want them to experience the emotional depth and expressive power that the violin uniquely offers.

About the lesson

Violin lessons are carefully designed to suit each student’s level and musical goals, whether you're picking up the instrument for the first time or refining years of practice. Beginners will start by learning how to properly hold the violin and bow, understand basic posture, and play simple scales and melodies. These fundamentals set the stage for a comfortable and enjoyable playing experience.

As students progress, we introduce music reading, more complex rhythms, and exercises to improve intonation and coordination. Technique-building elements like shifting, vibrato, and bowing variations are introduced gradually and clearly. I use a mix of traditional repertoire, technical studies, and student-selected music to keep lessons motivating and diverse.

For intermediate and advanced players, lessons focus on performance pieces, musical expression, and advanced technical skills. We dive into interpretation, phrasing, dynamics, and stylistic playing across genres—classical, folk, or contemporary. If students are preparing for exams, recitals, or auditions, I provide targeted support to help polish their performance and presentation.

Each session is structured yet flexible, balancing skill development with creativity and personal interests. My aim is to create a positive, patient environment where students are encouraged to challenge themselves, express emotion through music, and develop a lifelong appreciation for the violin.
