About Sable

I hold a bachelor’s degree in music with a focus on violin performance and have over 6 years of teaching experience, working with students from young beginners to adult learners. My journey with the violin began in childhood, and over time, it evolved into both a passion and a professional path. I’ve since performed in ensembles, chamber groups, and solo settings, and I bring that well-rounded experience into my teaching. My approach to tutoring is patient, encouraging, and structured. I believe that learning the violin should be both disciplined and enjoyable, and I aim to strike that balance in every lesson. I tailor my instruction to each student’s goals—whether that’s mastering classical repertoire, preparing for exams or auditions, or simply learning to play favorite songs with ease and expression. In addition to technique and tone, I focus on helping students understand the emotional and storytelling elements of music. I find joy in helping students connect with their instrument, develop their unique sound, and feel confident in their musical voice. Through regular feedback and clear goals, I ensure students stay motivated and progress steadily. Teaching violin isn’t just about passing on knowledge—it’s about inspiring musical growth and creativity. I take pride in creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable, challenged, and proud of what they achieve. Watching students grow into expressive, capable musicians is the most rewarding part of what I do.

About the lesson

Violin lessons are crafted to meet the needs of each individual student, whether you're just starting out or aiming to refine advanced techniques. Lessons begin with a solid foundation in posture, bow hold, and tone production, ensuring that students develop healthy habits from the start. I focus on building strong fundamentals while keeping lessons engaging and tailored to your musical goals.

Key areas we’ll explore include bowing styles, left-hand technique, intonation, and expression. We’ll work through exercises and pieces that are appropriate for your level, gradually increasing in complexity to match your progress. Repertoire can range from classical works to modern pieces, depending on your interests, with a consistent emphasis on musicality and technique.

Each lesson also integrates music reading, ear training, and rhythm development to support well-rounded musical growth. Students preparing for auditions, performances, or graded exams will receive structured guidance, goal-setting strategies, and performance tips to help them feel confident and prepared. For casual learners, we maintain a relaxed pace with plenty of room for exploration and creativity.

The overall aim is to create a positive and inspiring learning environment where students can enjoy their musical journey. With encouragement, clear instruction, and consistent practice, you’ll find yourself growing steadily in both skill and confidence—ready to express yourself fully through the violin.
