About Tara
I’m a violin tutor with over four years of experience and a Licentiate of Music in Violin. My teaching goes beyond technique—I take a holistic and therapeutic approach to help students find their own voice through music. For me, the violin is not just an instrument; it’s a way to express emotions, tell stories, and heal. I incorporate improvisation, journaling, and soundscape creation to encourage personal growth and emotional release. These tools help students connect deeply with their music and themselves. I have had the privilege of working with neurodiverse learners, trauma survivors, and adults seeking healing and self-discovery through their playing. Each lesson is tailored to nurture not only musical skills but also emotional well-being. I focus on creating a safe space where students feel free to explore and express. The violin becomes a trusted companion on their journey towards inner peace and creative freedom. My goal is to help you use music as a powerful tool to connect with your inner voice and the world around you. Together, we’ll make the violin a source of comfort, strength, and joy.

Teaching violin is like guiding a journey where each student discovers their unique musical voice. I’ve helped many who struggled with poor posture, making them feel tense and stuck. Together, we gently adjust bow hold and positioning, turning discomfort into ease and freedom. One student came to me frustrated with weak intonation; through focused scale practice and listening exercises, they learned to hear and play in tune with growing confidence. Motivation can fade, especially when progress feels slow. I bring stories and music that inspire, helping students connect emotionally with their playing. For those who thrive on structure, I provide clear steps and achievable goals that keep momentum strong. Others need to unlock their expressive side, so we explore dynamics and phrasing that bring music to life. I’ve seen students blossom from hesitant beginners into confident performers, ready to share their sound in worship settings or on stage. My lessons balance discipline with joy, technique with heart.
