About Aanya
I have over four years of experience teaching violin and hold a Licentiate of Music in Violin. My approach to violin lessons is holistic and therapeutic, focusing on self-expression, emotional release, and musical storytelling. I believe music is more than just notes—it’s a way to connect deeply with ourselves and the world around us. In my lessons, I use improvisation, journaling, and soundscape creation to encourage personal growth and creativity. These tools help students explore their emotions and develop a unique musical voice. I especially enjoy working with neurodiverse learners, trauma survivors, and adult students who are seeking healing through music. Teaching is a chance to create a safe space where the violin becomes a powerful tool for expressing the inner voice. My goal is to help every student find emotional connection and freedom through their playing. Together, we explore the beauty of music as a path to wellbeing and self-discovery. My violin teaching approach centres on developing physical awareness and mental focus to create a natural, flowing musical experience. I emphasise mindful breathing techniques that support steady bowing and a relaxed left-hand posture to prevent tension. Visualising music patterns helps students connect more deeply with the pieces they play, making each lesson a blend of technical skill and creative expression. I guide students to build healthy practice habits that promote endurance and prevent strain. By encouraging regular breaks and mindful movement, I help them maintain physical ease while advancing their skills. This approach ensures that playing feels comfortable and sustainable, supporting long-term progress and musical enjoyment. For learners who thrive with emotional safety and imaginative learning, I create a supportive environment where curiosity is welcomed. At the same time, I work with those who value strong goal-setting to structure their growth clearly and confidently. This balance allows each student to flourish, blending technique with personal musicality.
