About Jay

I am a qualified personal trainer with 8 years' experience. I have been a manager of 2 (popular brand) gyms and I now own a private gym in Wembley, available for you to train in. where I also host group fitness classes like boot camp, step fitness and spin. I have a wide knowledge of fitness and biomechanics, that enables me to use a variety of training techniques, ranging from muscle endurance, cardio fitness, bodybuilding, plyometric and isometric training. to achieve the desired results for my clients. I have also worked as a qualified GP referral fitness trainer for 2 years. which means I have a background in training people with mild medical conditions, such as: hypertension, arthritis, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and obesity. Through a combination of strength & fitness training and nutrition-based weight loss programmes, I have helped many people successfully reach their fitness goals and achieve their desired results. I look forward to beginning to help you on your fitness journey.

  • What age did you start playing sport? Tell us about this time or moment in your life.

    I began my journey in sports at a young age, around eight, when I first discovered the joy of physical activity. This time was pivotal in shaping my view of fitness as a lifelong pursuit. The camaraderie, discipline, and sense of accomplishment I experienced during those early years laid the foundation for my dedication to a healthy lifestyle.
  • What are your favourite sports; those that you practice at a high level, a simple hobby, and a sport that you'd still like to discover?

    Among the various sports I enjoy, calisthenics and strength and conditioning hold a special place in my heart. I've honed my skills and expertise in these areas over the course of many years, transforming them from mere hobbies into high-level practices. In addition, I also find immense pleasure in boxing, which provides a balanced approach to my fitness journey. As for sports I'd like to discover, mixed martial arts, as it aligns with my philosophy of constantly pushing boundaries and embracing new challenges.
  • What gives you the motivation and passion to pursue your sport?

    The motivation and passion that fuel my commitment to fitness stem from a deep-seated belief in the transformative power of physical activity. Witnessing the positive impact it has on individuals' lives, both mentally and physically, is truly inspiring. The sense of empowerment that comes from achieving personal milestones and helping others reach their goals serves as a continuous source of motivation.
  • Do you have a sporting achievement that you're particularly proud of?

    One of my proudest sporting achievements is training one of my clients to achieve an amateur boxing medal. This accomplishment not only showcased my dedication but also reinforced my ability to guide others toward their aspirations.
  • How have your achievements and challenges made you a better sportsperson?

    My journey has been marked by both achievements and challenges, each contributing to my growth as a sportsperson. Triumphs have taught me the rewards of hard work and discipline, while setbacks have instilled resilience and adaptability. Through these experiences, I've learned to appreciate the holistic nature of fitness, which encompasses mental fortitude, emotional balance, and physical prowess.
  • If you had to go for a jog with a famous athlete, who would you choose? And what questions would you ask them?

    If given the opportunity to jog with a famous athlete, I would choose Muhammad Ali due to his exceptional discipline mindset that contributed to his success. I would inquire about his strategies for overcoming obstacles, his approach to maintaining peak performance, and how he balanced the demands of their sport with other aspects of life.
  • How do you help people stay motivated?

    Helping people stay motivated is a cornerstone of my approach. I emphasize setting clear, achievable goals, celebrating incremental progress, and fostering a positive support system. Tailoring workouts to individual preferences and continually introducing new challenges keeps things engaging and prevents monotony. Additionally, I share inspirational stories, techniques for overcoming plateaus, and the importance of self-care to maintain motivation.
