About Niall
I have over 9 years of experience teaching piano, specialising in students preparing for church worship leading, community theatre accompaniment, and professional wedding band performances. I hold an Associate of Music degree in Piano Skills, which has given me a solid foundation in both technique and musicality. My teaching style is personalised and motivating, tailored to each student’s goals and musical interests. Whether you want to lead worship with confidence, support a theatre production, or shine in a wedding band, I’m here to guide you every step of the way. I focus on building strong fundamentals while encouraging creativity and expression. My lessons combine practical skills with real-world application to prepare you for live performances. I emphasise sight-reading exercises, speed reading music, and identifying intervals on the staff to improve overall reading skills. Rhythmic accuracy is also a key part of my lessons, helping students stay steady and confident while playing. I work especially well with The Child Prodigy and The Hobbyist Adult, providing dedicated drills tailored to their needs. These drills help students develop fluency in reading new music quickly and accurately. Step by step, I guide them to overcome challenges and build confidence. Lessons are structured but engaging, ensuring steady progress without overwhelming. You’ll learn to recognise notes and rhythms instantly and translate them smoothly to the piano keys. This method makes playing new pieces easier and more enjoyable. My goal is to help you play music at sight with ease. I support every learner’s journey, encouraging steady improvement and a love for reading music. Together, we’ll unlock your full potential and make sight-reading a strong skill.
