About Delia

I hold a Doctor of Musical Arts in Violin Performance and have been teaching for more than 7 years. My teaching goes beyond traditional methods, focusing on the therapeutic and holistic benefits of violin study. I believe music allows us to release emotions, reduce stress, and tell our stories in unique ways. Improvisation, journaling, and soundscape creation are essential tools in my lessons. They help students reflect, heal, and grow personally through music. I’ve worked with neurodiverse learners, trauma survivors, and adults who seek music as a form of therapy. Each lesson is a safe, supportive space that adapts to individual needs. I encourage mindful listening, emotional awareness, and creative exploration. My teaching emphasizes expression over perfection. The violin becomes more than an instrument—it becomes a channel for healing. Together, we explore sound as a path to balance and inner strength. The violin can be your safe voice for well-being and connection.

About the lesson

I teach violin by focusing on the bow as the main source of musical expression. Lessons begin with developing a natural bow hold and smooth arm movement. We then work on tone production, exploring how weight and speed affect sound. Dynamics are taught as tools for shaping music emotionally. I introduce bow strokes like legato, detaché, martelé, and spiccato with clear, practical steps. Exercises are designed to strengthen coordination and control in the bow arm. Shower Singers and Choir Members often find joy in this work, as they already understand musical line and phrasing. I help them bring those instincts into violin playing. My lessons are engaging, supportive, and tailored to each student. I focus on building confidence while mastering technique. Expression is always as important as accuracy. Over time, students gain freedom to tell their own musical stories. The violin becomes a voice, capable of producing sounds that are rich and beautiful.
