About Olivia
I am a guitar teacher with 10 years of experience, specializing in helping adult learners build confidence and creativity through music. I hold a Diploma of Music with a Guitar Specialization and have guided students of all ages to explore their musical potential. My teaching style is flexible and supportive, adapting lessons to each learner’s pace, goals, and interests. I focus on practical goal-setting, balancing technical skill-building with opportunities for self-expression, composition, improvisation, and performance. Lessons are designed to be engaging, motivating, and meaningful. I believe music is a lifelong journey, and it’s never too late to develop new skills or revisit old passions. Through structured practice and encouragement, students gain confidence, independence, and enjoyment. I invite adult learners to rediscover their musical side and experience the joy of playing guitar at any stage of life.

My teaching approach for guitar focuses on making learning accessible, engaging, and confidence-building for every student. I adapt lessons to individual needs, adjusting pace and using sensory tools to support neurodiverse learners. Positive feedback is central to my methodology, helping students stay motivated and encouraged.
I emphasize core skills such as chords, improvisation, fingerstyle, and rhythm, while integrating exercises to strengthen listening and coordination. Lessons are tailored to each learner’s interests and goals, balancing technical development with creative exploration. For ensemble or solo practice, I focus on timing, expression, and musical communication.
Students are encouraged to explore their own style, whether strumming around a campfire or diving into jazz improvisation. Each session is interactive and adaptable, using tools like visual aids, tactile feedback, and play-along tracks to enhance understanding. By combining technical practice with musical creativity, learners develop skill, independence, and confidence, while enjoying the process and preparing for performance.
