After doing trials for various teaching methods. I found following the pattern is the best for the majority of
students

1. 5 mins - Intro and Recap ( for eg. How was the day?, What topics we covered in the last class, what's going on in school ? etc.)

2. 40- 50 mins Then we study the topic and solve the questions together like teamwork.

3. 5- 10 mins. Summarize the class. If there are any doubts we would get them clarified.

I have previous years' papers, which we will solve together. I've taught kids from the GEMs foundation, The Beehive Montessori School, Cranbrook School, and much more.

  • When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

I was a maths enthusiast from my childhood. I was a maths geek in my school. So I pursued my engineering afterward. In school, I taught my fellow mates(for free) but when I started my job, I started tutoring along with it, as a pass time. Ohh my !! and little did I know, it was my passion, I started teaching more kids and soon I left my full-time engineering job to be a tutor!

I felt there was a need for good teachers because 1 good teacher can raise 1000 engineers!
  • Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

I relate maths to real life, like fractions to eating a pizza. And interest rates to being a billionaire!! All the topics are unique and special if they are taught in the way it is meant to be.
  • Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

All the great scientists are my role models, My favorite was Fynmann. I also looked upon Madame Curie. She did so much in the time when women were considered not adequate for physics.
  • What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

    1. Attention-grabbing
    2. One who can simplify and explain things differently
    3. Who understands the psychology of a child.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

I used to daydream about maths sums !!!
  • What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or are still facing in your subject?

I don't think anything is difficult, fairly speaking. But yes, there is one thing for the student's appearing in Yr 13 examination or going for selective exams, sometimes feels stressed "the basic - exam fear". So, I tell them breathwork which helps them reduce exam anxiety.
  • Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

I love to see my students grow, each student is like a little bud. It's beautiful to see them blossom as a flower! That's my passion, to convert the buds to beautiful flowers.
  • What makes you a Superprof (besides answering these interview questions)?

I've been using Superprof before COVID was ever discovered, and likely from 2017. Yes, obviously on and off. I read about the founders and Yes, I am in their "connections" on LinkedIn.
Apart from that, I've a passion to teach online and a willingness to give my knowledge that I have gained through my hard work. I don't like how "maths" is discriminated among everyone - I want to rekindle the LOVE of maths.
