About Don
I am a graduate of the "Brooks Institute of Photography" with a BA in Photography. I am first and foremost a commercial photographer. To achieve this title, and to maintain it as my full-time career, I have had to strive for perfection in the mastery of my craft; keeping satisfied clients requires nothing less. As an instructor, I have seen the excitement that comes from the discovery of new and better ways to approach the many aspects of image creation, both technical and aesthetic. I can help to make you a better photographer.

Custom tailored lessons based on the current experience level of each individual student. The goal of each lesson will be to provide challenging instruction and assignments that will quickly assist you in becoming a more accomplished photographer. Photography is a craft that includes technical aspects and creative aspects. To succeed and master the craft requires discipline and practice. We will “walk” by mastering the technical aspects first, taking into consideration the individual proficiency level of each student, and then we will "run", by pushing creatively to achieve stunning visual images. We will use Photoshop and Lightroom as our digital darkroom; programs I have been using since their introduction. I have a well-equipped studio that will serve as a backdrop for lessons and demonstrations. I also shoot and edit video and have an associate photographer ( Madison ) that will assist me with lessons. For those who desire, we can also discuss the business of photography, and even discuss video production.

Don has been a peer and colleague of mine for many years. We have worked together professionally on advertising campaigns and have served on the same Art & Design Advisory board for years.
Don is an exceptional professor and a dedicated student of his own craft. His diligence in learning the latest and greatest in Photography not only benefits him but his students as well.
Even as a peer, I've learned so much from Don as he is selfless when it comes to gifting information or tricks of the trade. Any student would be lucky to have Don as a professor!I highly recommend Don as a tutor on Superprof. His passion for photography and sharing his knowledge is truly inspiring. Don's unmatched attention to detail and expertise as a lighting guru set him apart. I've personally benefited from collaborating with Don on a professional level to bring creative advertising concepts and product shoots to life.
I know Don as he was one of my teachers at my university. Don is passionate about photography. He has such a vast pot of knowledge, and he is always super willing to help and give great feedback. He knows the commercial industry quite well and has a quality standard that he feels those photos should get up to. He is always ready to help get your photos to that consistent quality. He knows what he is doing, that's for sure. He has a plethora of work that has been across hundreds of platforms. I think that he would be a great Superprof tutor because of his passion, knowledge, and all around standard.
With Don as your teacher, you will learn so much! He is a natural teacher - incredibly talented. I have worked with Don on a professional basis for over 31 years. I am an art director and naturally curious - wanting to learn. I always had questions about how he was doing things on set. During those photo shoots,, he would explain everything so I could understand what and why he was doing things. We have become good friends through the years. His body of work spans location shoots as well as in-studio. He has an international client base and is sought after as a photographer and videographer. He is my first choice for client needs.
