About Hirad
I obtained my bachelor of mechanical engineering from the Sharif University of Technology, arguably the most prestigious higher education institute in Iran, and my MBA from the Iranian Institute of Management and Planning Studies, arguably one of the more prominent business schools in Iran. Currently, I'm back at my alma mater, studying for my Ph.D. in management.
I've spent the last 3 or so years, teaching people from 8 to 18, in math, and a narrower age band in physics. I've tutored students from the USA and Canada, to the UK, the Netherlands, South Africa, and Australia!
Overall, I've been tutoring more than a dozen students online, and most of them have experienced significant improvements in their understanding of the material, which of course was reflected in their scores as well!

My teaching method is based on problem-solving, loosely based on George Polya's "How to Solve It?". According to Polya, there are 4 steps to solving a problem:
1- Understand it. (Simple, right? You'd be amazed how many people underestimate the importance of this step.)
2- Make a plan. (Less like Tomcat in Tom and Jerry, and more like Norman Schwarzkopf in the USA)
3- Execute the plan. (Again simple, right? This is the part where most people realize they might have made a mistake, although earlier.)
4- How can you improve anything?
A typical class lasts about an hour, and depending on the subject, may include one to six problems.
- Wait, what about physics?
+ All of the above are true for physics as well.
- Wasn't Polya a mathematician?
+ Physics wouldn't mean anything without mathematics!
