About Noma

- What kind of experience do you have?

The Young Vic Theatre - Yemaya in 'Feast', I'm also the proud recipient of an Olivier Award for their production of 'A Raisin in the Sun' by Lorraine Hansberry. For the RSC - Paulina in 'The Winter's Tale', Nurse in 'Romeo and Juliet' Witch in 'Macbeth' Mrs Mugabe 'Breakfast with Mugabe' amongst many other productions. The Woman in 'The Bogus Woman' directed by Lisa Goldman - Bush Theatre, Traverse Theatre. Most recent pleasure has been a two hander with Matthew Marsh at The Hampstead theatre called 'A Human Being Died That Night' by Nicholas Wright and directed by Jonathan Munby. TV includes Dr. Who, Frankie, Eastenders, Holby, Casualty, Midsomer Murders. Film includes 'Dirty Pretty Things' directed by Stephen Frears.

- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?

No I don't. Though I will get one if it's an absolute must.

- Where and with whom did you train?

For those who haven't been to drama school, I have had the same journey. On the job. There are many routes to what you chose to achieve....

About the lesson

Acting has taught me that how we 'play' in plays with others is what leads to owning Your sense of creativity. It can be ecstatic. It can be hard. It can be a mind melt. How you cope with it is your part of the 'playing', that's the joy in it.

- Which subject(s) do you teach?

Acting auditions, Drama school preparation, also one to one Acting sessions on ideas/pieces you'd like to explore.

- Tell me about your qualifications.

I have an extensive CV working with a great bunch of directors and actors - including Rupert Goold, Michael Grandage, Rufus Norris, Indhu Rubasingham, Lisa Goldman, Greg Doran, Michael Boyd, Antony Sher, Harriet Walter, Jude Law, Ron Cook, Eve Myles, Jocelyn Jee Esien, Lucian Msamati, Jessie Buckley and it goes on. I like who I've worked with a lot, young and old, seasoned and green...

- How much do you charge?

I am charging £45ph for my time, If required, I can travel, this will be extra based on the day return ticket rate. Also if you consider working on a two hander and need an outside eye then I will charge £35ph each.

- Where do you teach?

I live near New Cross Gate station which is a great transport area, I do prefer to work at home. Though I will consider coming to you after we've discussed the best way for this to occur - this is mainly down to timings as I have a family to consider. Week ends are to be negotiated and I will add an extra £10 to the going rate as I prefer to keep it work free if am not doing shows myself. So £55 for weekends.

- When are you available?

Between 10am -12.30pm during weekdays, and 1pm - 3.15pm (excepting Monday afternoon) I will consider weekends as mentioned above.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

15 and beyond! We will discuss, on the phone, what your immediate needs are and take it from there.

- Do you have a personal message for students?

If you're curious, at the very least, in telling a story well, then I believe I can guide you towards your best version of yourself!
