My classes--available to high school sutdents studying for the ACT to undergraduates seeking to better their essay writing--center around discussion and writing exercises. I practice writing with my students, rather than just assigning essays. I read and comment on the drafts in order to give my studnets specific pointers. Reading and rewriting drafts allows the student to become better writers.
I am Art History Ph.D. Candidate with eight years of experience teaching classes of thirty to ninety students each semester at a research university focused on instructing students in academic writing and reading comprehension. As an Architecture and Design historian, I primarily teach design students to write and had tremmendous success in training visual artists in essay writing
