How Much Is a Promethean Board? ActivPanel Prices and Extra Costs

A new Promethean board lists at $1,748 to $5,378 for the panel alone. Those are Promethean’s own list prices for US public buyers, effective January 5, 2026. The 65-inch ActivPanel LE sits at the low end, and the 86-inch ActivPanel 10 Premium sits at the top.

Most schools and businesses pay less than list through resellers and purchasing contracts. They also pay extra for mounting, computing modules, software, and installation. This guide shows the published price of each model and size, plus the costs that come on top.

How Much Does a Promethean Board Cost by Size?

Screen size drives most of the price. Bigger screens cost more, and the jump from 75 to 86 inches is the steepest. On Promethean’s 2026 list, a 65-inch panel costs $1,748 to $3,109, depending on the model. A 75-inch panel costs $2,252 to $3,613, and an 86-inch panel costs $3,681 to $5,378. The chart below comes from an earlier edition of this guide, so use the table after it for current list prices.

The table shows two prices for each panel. The list price is Promethean’s recommended retail price. The school price is what Michigan schools pay through REMC SAVE, a cooperative purchasing program that bids on their behalf. Shipping isn’t included, because Promethean quotes these prices ex-works.

Resellers often sell below list, too. CDW, for example, advertised the 75-inch ActivPanel 10 Premium at $3,103.99 on October 6, 2026. That is about $500 under its $3,613 list price. Prices change often, so ask for a written quote.

Which Promethean ActivPanel Model Is Right for You?

Promethean sells three interactive display models in the US. Each comes in 65-, 75-, and 86-inch sizes, and the Premium also comes in 55 inches. All three have 4K screens and come with two passive pens.

• ActivPanel LE ($1,748 to $3,681 list): the value model. It runs Android 16 with Google apps built in and supports up to 40 touch points.
• ActivPanel 10 ($2,605 to $4,874 list): no built-in operating system, so it works with your laptop or a plug-in module. It has 40 touch points and two 20 W speakers.
• ActivPanel 10 Premium ($2,773 to $5,378 list): adds 50 touch points, an 8-microphone array, a soundbar with subwoofer, an active pen, and an all-in-one remote.

Promethean’s comparison chart also lists the ActivPanel LX, a simpler panel with 20 touch points and no built-in operating system. It isn’t on the 2026 REMC price list, so ask a reseller for a quote if you want one.

Both ActivPanel 10 models include two licenses for Promethean ActivSuite software. Promethean launched them in January 2025 as the successors to the ActivPanel 9. That earlier panel set a high bar, since the ActivPanel 9 Premium won a Tech & Learning Best of Show award at ISTE 2023.

Promethean presents the ActivPanel 10’s modular design as a way to protect a school’s budget over time. Its chief product officer explained the idea at launch.

By allowing easy updates or swaps of connected devices without replacing the entire panel, our customers’ investments remain secure and relevant, accommodating future tech upgrades with ease.

What Else Adds to the Price of a Promethean Board?

The panel is only part of the budget. Mounting, computing, software, and support all add to the total. Here’s what Promethean lists for the most common extras.

Mounts and Installation

Promethean’s basic wall-mount bracket lists at $69. Mobile and height-adjustable stands cost more, and resellers quote them separately. Promethean’s spec sheets say a qualified installer should set up each panel. Labor isn’t on the price list, so get installation quoted along with the hardware.

Computing Modules and Accessories

The ActivPanel 10 models need a connected device or a plug-in module to run apps. These are Promethean’s January 2026 list prices for the main add-ons:

• OPS-A2 Android module: $286
• Promethean Chromebox OPS: $860
• OPS-M i5 Windows module, with Windows preinstalled: $1,199
• 4K ePTZ camera, for the ActivPanel 10 Premium only: $175
• ActivPen 2 rechargeable pen: $99
• All-in-one remote for the ActivPanel 10: $50

Software and Support

Promethean says its ActivInspire lesson software is free, with no annual license fee. Extra ActivSuite licenses list at $15 per user per year, for orders of up to 500 licenses. Explain Everything Advanced, Promethean’s cloud-based lesson app, lists at $69 per license per year for one to 10 licenses. A five-year on-site support extension lists at $249 for panels up to 79 inches and $379 for larger ones.

How Do You Clean a Promethean Board?

Promethean says a dry microfiber cloth removes most fingerprints and streaks. For a deeper clean, its ActivPanel 9 user guide gives these steps:

1. Use a 100% cotton or microfiber cloth.
2. Use 70% to 90% isopropyl or ethanol alcohol, and no other cleaners or solvents.
3. Spritz the liquid onto the cloth, never directly onto the panel.
4. Wipe in a single direction.
5. Make sure all moisture is gone when you finish.
6. Check with your school or district for any local cleaning rules.

Tips for Buying a Promethean Board

Promethean can connect you with a selling partner who knows its displays. Before you reach out, settle these points:

• Measure your room so the screen size works for everyone, including the back row.
• Decide between a wall mount and a mobile stand.
• Choose how you want to run apps: Android built in with the LE, or your own device or module with the ActivPanel 10.
• Ask whether your district already buys through a cooperative contract, such as REMC SAVE in Michigan.
• Fill in the form on Promethean’s buying page to reach its sales team.
