About Amber
I’m a singing tutor with over 5 years of experience and a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Vocal Performance. I specialize in working with adult beginners, casual singers, and those returning to music after time away. Whether you're joining a community choir, singing karaoke with friends, or simply exploring your voice again, I’m here to support you. My teaching style is warm, low-pressure, and focused on creating an encouraging space where you can feel at ease. We work on breathwork, posture, and vocal relaxation to help you sing with more freedom and confidence. I also incorporate mindfulness into our sessions, making each lesson not just educational—but a chance to slow down and reconnect with your creativity. We’ll explore tone development and simple vocal techniques tailored to your goals, always keeping things fun and accessible. I enjoy teaching a wide range of styles, including Jazz, Folk, Blues, and Contemporary Adult. My passion lies in helping people rediscover the joy of singing as a form of self-care and personal expression.

My teaching approach centers on helping singers connect deeply with the music they perform. I guide students in lyric interpretation, emotional expression, and storytelling through song. We explore what each lyric means to you personally and how to communicate that meaning clearly to an audience.
Every lesson is designed to help you sing with honesty and intention. I focus on the emotional layers behind each song and how vocal tone, phrasing, and breath can bring those feelings to life. Whether you’re preparing for a recital or just singing for yourself, we work to make each performance feel true and powerful.
I'm especially good with The Fiddler and The Music Major, offering thoughtful feedback to help them refine how they move listeners. I support each student in building confidence not just in their sound, but in their message. We explore techniques that help your voice serve the story, not just the notes.
