About Avisek

I am getting my Ph.D. in biostatistics, which is the application of statistical analyses in Public Health, but I have also have previous work experience in the industry as a statistician as well and I also have previous tutoring experience, so I have a heavy exposure in Statistics, but a heavier background of Math in general. When I began to get great at Math, I wanted to know how I could teach it to others. Early on in my career, it was hard to explain how to break down a math problem to someone who didn't understand math. But with time and experience, I became much better at explaining math concepts to those who don't quite understand it and I have the utmost confidence in myself to be able to aid in your mathematics needs that will help you gain some knowledge as well.

About the lesson

My teaching ways are meant to be beneficial for students are in need of guidance with a problem and walk you through several steps to success. My philosophy as a teacher is not to just provide the answers to students because they are looking to get their homework done or turn in an assignment last second.

My goal as a teacher is to guide these students through a problem by breaking down the problem into several steps. I expect my student to not only figure out each step of the problem, but also make sure they understand how to do it for next time.

My method is to allow students to go through this problem without too much supervision, so that their knowledge increases about this type of problem. But, there is not problem in asking me any questions or provide any comments. There are not stupid questions!

If there is time at the end, I would like to quickly summarize the problem we just went over and make sure the student knows how to break down the problem we are going over, so that they are prepared for the next time they have this problem!
