My teaching method is a mixture of explanation and practice. I think the best way to really master a subject is by doing it rather than by listening to someone else talk about it. For example, if we were working on GCSE English Literature, I would explain how I would revise for an exam by making lots of essay plans for possible questions, then I would give an example of how an essay plan could look and how, in an exam, I could adapt that plan to suit different questions; then we could make some essay plans together, collecting quotes and examples from the set text, organising them under subject headings, and presenting them neatly so that later revision is made simple.
I also am very good at understanding people's skills and expressing these in the best way. For example, if you were applying for a subject at University and had lots of good experience and skills in a list format, I would be able to help you express this in a persuasive way for a Personal Statement.
Finally, I am very good at Interview preparation, whether that is for School or University admissions. I have been through several highly competitive admissions processes in my time in education and I have always succeeded. I know the types of questions these places tend to ask and the style of answer they like. I would be able to help you feel confident and prepared for an Interview.
