I would recommend Mel as a tutor. As somebody with anxiety she has made a welcoming environment which has enabled me to study at a university level. Mel is flexible, thoughtful and knowledgable and listens to what you have to say. She works hard to build your knowledge and study skills and also self confidence.
Even though we have been working together a short time, Mel has already bridged the gaps in my learning she has taught me many ways to bring a systematic, methodological and communicative approach to my work academically and the professional side of things.
She is a grade A support worker, tutor, person, and mentor.
She is an inspiration to me and I feel blessed to have her in my life.I found Mel to be a very professional tutor, extremely helpful and supportive.
I met Mel whilst studying my degree and applied for DSA for my dyslexia, she encouraged me to apply for the mental health support as I suffered from depression and anxiety. I was hesitant to do this as I didn’t want a stranger to support and agreed to apply if Mel would be the one to support me.
Circumstances arose that required me to apply for mitigating circumstances throughout my course therefore extending the time period of study.
Mel was a fantastic support both on an academic and non academic level.
Mel was always reliable, trustworthy, good at time keeping, she encouraged me to me develop my academic skills and motivated me through the course. During the time we developed an excellent rapport, and became good friends after I graduated attending my wedding.
I have no concerns recommending Mel for this position.Mel was recommended to me by my wife who also has dyslexia and passed her degree with honours, with the help of Mel's support.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Mel as a trusted tutor. She stuck with me through my foundation degree, even when I was ready to give up on myself. Mel is very patient and professional in her work and I would have no qualms in asking her to help me again if I needed support.
Mel supported me to work at masters level when I returned to study after many years. She very quickly worked out my needs and learning style and tailored her advice to suit this. She was incredibly skillfull at clarifying exactly what was expected of me and scaffolded the process of essay writing so that that I could learn critical thinking skills and work independently with skill. She’s an incredibly insightful person who knows just what to do and say to get the best out of you and most importantly support you in your learning goals. I could not have done it without her guidance. Just so great that she’s a people person too with an incredible mind and passion for what she does.
Very encouraging. Experienced in critical analysis, report writing methods, reflective practice. Organisation and planning. Full of helpful and useful tips and strategies that have helped to bring out the best in my work this year. On a personal level Mel is very down to earth whilst remaining professional. Easy to feel comfortable with immediately.
Mel has been most helpful in making sure I stay on task and make sure what I am writing makes sense. She help's provide some articles and highlighted bits from books for me to reference make and sure I reference it in the proper form. Mel has shown an interest in the subject I was working for my dissertation which helped make it worth it on writing the dissertation.
Mel is a fantastic person and wonderful tutor. She is kind, friendly and funny as well as being patient, incredibly helpful and full of knowledge. She is extremely hard working and has helped me so much with my university work, as well as being a bit of a listening ear when the pressure was getting a bit much. Mel always communicated well with me, helping me through parts of my work that I found difficult in a way that I understood, and helped proof-read my assignments. She always made me feel comfortable in sharing my work with her, something I'd been struggling to do before with other tutors because I was too self-conscious about what I'd written. I could not have done without her this year. She was a ray of sunshine to work with and I would recommend her 100%.
Mel is currently supporting me through my nursing degree and I can confidently say I couldn’t do it without her. Struggling with dyslexia and ADHD Mel has found ways to help me work to the best of my ability and embrace being different. She goes above and beyond for all her students and is passionate to help others.
Mel was brilliant whilst I was at uni and did everything she could for me. Really miss her!
Mel is a brilliant tutor who has a wealth of knowledge on a huge amount of subjects. Mel has a great understanding of students with learning difficulties and a greater understanding of students with mental health issues. I personally would not have been able to complete my BSc in sport and Health Science if I
didn't have Mel by my side. Her I.T skills are amazing enabling me to complete research methods tables, graphs, spss systems everything I needed to pass my degree. I absolutely recommend Mel ..an outstanding professional who will help you follow your dream and get you qualified no matter what level you start at.Mel went above and beyond with helping with my assignments! She is trustworthy and easy to approach, making time for you where she can. Mel provided one to one support which has helped me progress through my degree. A* service
Mel is a fantastic tutor and all-round lovely person. Her greatest traits are her compassion and patience; she truly understands what people go through while studying and provides honest guidance to help them along their way. I couldn't recommend her enough...she will help you in any way she can at every moment possible, whilst giving you tools towards independence both academically and emotionally. I've learnt so much from Mel and definitely couldn't of finished university without her!
